Oh, The Grammy’s. One of my top three favorite awards show of the year.
Sadly, I missed the entire show last night. I never miss this show and always know that it airs on a random Sunday night in February, but I failed to notice that it decided to air on a Monday night this year. That’s OK though – I never miss my favorite part of the show, which is the red carpet fashions because social media constantly keeps me up to date on this.
I have to say, I’m disappointed in the lack of attendees. I felt like some of the most important people in music were missing and there wasn’t enough representation in the hip/hop rap genre. The lack of attendees called for a minuscule list of best dressed picks. I was looking for more extravagant, va-va-voom looks from nominees on the carpet, but at least these four brought all of the excitement:
Selena Gomez was dazzling in this gorgeous and vibrant purple Calvin Klein Collection gown. I love how effortless this look seems to be – an easy and curled down-do with smoky eye makeup really set the tone. This color looked fantastic and fresh on her because it’s something we really haven’t seen her in before, and the diamond hoops were just enough wow to complete the look. She really doesn’t have to do much to look good.
Taylor Swift in Atelier Versace was so retro-chic. I loved everything about this look, including her newly fresh chopped bob. She totally brought color-blocking back to life in these vibrant, shades of strawberry hues and the extravagant skirt was to my surprise very risque for T.Swift. It did remind me of an upgraded, more rebellious version of her Elie Saab gown she wore to the 2016 Grammy’s (which was stunning, as well).
Bella Hadid was striking in this glistening Alexandre Vauthier Haute Couture cut-out ensemble. I think she did it right by wearing a sexy, down played piece since she was solely there to support her beau, The Weeknd. It was enough to catch your attention but at the same time not draw away from everyone else.
Ellie Goulding was flawless in a low V and dazzling back detailed Stella McCartney gown. The blush undertone of the dress was perfect for her glowing skin and golden locks. I loved this dress because it was pretty yet unique all in one.
