AYA’S VOGUE BRIDAL SHOWER
BTS of Aya’s Vogue themed bridal shower.
Anyone who has met my sister knows that she is the epitome of all things fabulous. My mother and I began the process of planning her bridal shower with two things in mind: all of the glitz and all of the glamour. For those of you who don’t know Aya personally, she is like a real life Carrie Bradshaw (shoe obsession included) with a little smidge of Samantha. She craves all things prestigious and completely emerges herself into everything the fashion industry offers. She may not always be where the party is, but wherever she ends up, it turns into a party… so the only theme fit enough for her shower was Vogue, and all the astonishing things that the magazine represents
My mom and I wanted to create a room filled with high top tables, metallic balloons, and designers stamped all over. We incorporated some of the most elite brands as centerpieces, and added some extra flair to the desserts. We attempted to construct an entrance that only celebrities are accustomed to, and included a large red carpet to tie in the entire upscale vibe.
Our best friends flew into town from across the country to celebrate her special day as we danced and toasted to the last month before her wedding. And we totally immersed ourselves into the whole paparazzi vibe as we took as many snapshots we could with her customized back drop.
We made sure to stay true to the iconic names in fashion as we repurposed boxes and transformed them into centerpieces. Cartier, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, and Christian Louboutin took center stage of each table and they were placed on mirrored risers to add a bit of glam. Shelves were covered in Eiffel Towers and cut outs of Aya’s favorite pairs of shoes, sunglasses, and purses and confetti balloons flooded the entire room. One of our favorite pieces was the customized bejeweled ‘AYA’ that was placed on her table which was made by the fabulous Jesica of Glamtastic Designs.
I was probably the most excited to construct a dessert table, simply because I wanted it to be filled with all of Aya’s favorite things. From cupcakes and cookies to brownies and doughnuts… we wanted to make sure all of it was there so that everyone had a plethora of options after lunch. We used cut out cupcake toppers and asked some of our favorite bakeries to design fabulous cookies.
