BEST DRESSED: 2016 MET GALA

Manus x Machina was this year’s theme at the ultimate party of the year, the 2016 MET Gala.

The grandest event and fashion’s iconic night of the year is always the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute, also known as the MET Ball or MET Gala. This exclusive invitation only event hosts the hottest celebrities and notable people in fashion celebrating the arts with an extreme fundraiser that focuses on how important education of the fashion through costume is. I always look forward to the exciting themes that this party brings, and this year it was Manus x Machina – Fashion in the Age of Technology. to put it into simpler terms, it’s pretty much like handmade haute couture meets the machine crossover between technology and man-made now, an exploration of the two worlds. We are currently in a society where everyone is so high in technology that it was quite appropriate and pretty bad ass for the queen of the world (aka Anna Wintour) to put on such a fantastic theme.

I thought everyone looked absolutely stellar in their gorgeous gowns and minis, but of course, I always gravitate most towards the ones that really work their ensemble into the theme of the night.

Silicone, rubber, balloons, metallics, intergalactic ecstasies, you name it, were seen on the carpet:
