The best last minute decision I’ve ever made.

Turks and Caicos is too pretty for words. I realized that the second we started to see crystal blue waters underneath the clouds when we were up in the sky.  My trip was not planned by any means.  I booked my ticket 7 hours prior to the flight taking off.  It was gutsy, and last minute, and not a normal characteristic of mine, but it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.  The island is surprisingly close to where I live, and only required a 2-hour flight without stops to get there.  You experience an island-like vibe the second you land, but the breath-taking moment happened the minute I was looking out to the beach.  We stayed in an area called Chalk Sound and rented a house that gave us access to a private beach, kayaks, snorkeling gear, and our very own cabañas.  I’m always thankful and blessed to be a person who has witnessed so many beautiful places in my lifetime, but Turks and Caicos is the home to one of the most amazing beaches I’ve ever seen.  The soft white sand sinks your feet in and the water is 30 different shades of crystal clear blue.  It’s almost as if you never believed a place like that existed until your eyes physically see it.

While I didn’t stay very long, my heart and soul were fulfilled by the island completely when I left. I was so upset as I had left my camera’s battery back home, so all of the photos below were taken with my iPhone (I was SO upset!).  Thankfully, the place was so beautiful that you could only witness a glimpse of it’s beauty through a camera lens.  Sometimes last minute is the best kind of medicine.
