2016 IN REVIEW
Our year through photos.
A R O U N D T H E W O R L D
Every year I write a year in review (see all here) and it is without a doubt one of my favorite parts of writing on this platform. I am able to give myself the opportunity to sit with my thoughts and think about what this year meant to me, all the opportunities I was given, and reflect on how much I’ve grown. While I wouldn’t say this year beat 2015 for me (I got married, graduated grad school, and moved), I’d like to say that 2016 brought me so much more opportunity. Aya and I first launched this site at the beginning of this year and we have been overwhelmed with the amount of support we have received as we transitioned from our previous blogs. We have learned so much through it all, and we are so thankful for all the wonderful people we have met along the way.
The amount of places we traveled to this year (around 10, collectively) has humbled us in a way that we would never be able to describe. We’ve witnessed worlds outside of our own, enjoyed some of the best foods, and one place in particular gave us the joy of watching our best friend get married. I guess I didn’t realize how much we were living out of a suitcase until I compiled all of our photos together. I’d like to think that this is the reason why we do this, why we blog, and why we document everything that we do. Yes, it is a fun hobby that turned into a business, but it is also our safe haven. I’d like to compare it to a treasure chest that is filled with our favorite photos and wonderful memories.
Let us cheers to a New Year and stay hopeful that although our year was great, that the best is yet to come. Happy New Year! x
