2017 IN REVIEW
الحمد لله ربّ العالمين – A look back at 2017
I always find myself reflecting the most on this day every single year. 2017 brought so much surprise in both Aya and me’s life. She transitioned from single to married while I transitioned from wife to family. It was easily one of the most life changing years in both of our lives.
As I look back on our year through photos I’ve realized so many things. First of all, we are always forever grateful for everything we have experienced, but sometimes I feel like we are not thankful enough. I didn’t realize how many places we had traveled to and how many parties we got to enjoy. From spending last NYE in San Diego to Aya’s trip to Turks & Caicos (TWICE!). And let’s not forget the celebrations leading up to my sister’s wedding including our epic trip to Vegas for her bachelorette and my sweet baby girl’s Disney baby shower.
Before I became a mother, I thought that my life would have to be put on pause. From being able to go to a restaurant last minute to catching a trip with friends, but that could not be further from the truth. Throughout my entire pregnancy and the birth of my daughter, not much has changed in the way I go about things– it just takes a little longer to get ready that’s all.
We are growing. Not only with the changes in our life, but with the way we think. We have learned to appreciate everything that has been given to us, and cherish all of the moments we got to share with our family. We realized the meaning of true friendship, and we are grateful everyday for those we call our real friends. This life is a constant journey, and every year we are redefining who we are.
Hope you all have a safe and Happy New Year.
