PHOTOWALL
Added some personality to my wall to liven up the living room.
Here’s the thing when it comes to me and decorating– I never feel finished. I’ve been living in my new apartment for about 6 months now, and I still find myself rearranging and adding things to my walls and shelves. When we first moved, I had all of these ideas on what to do with the open floor plan, but the process of furnishing and decorating became rather intimidating while I was in my last trimester of pregnancy.
While my living room is laced with bits and pieces of my handmade flower wall from my wedding, it never felt complete with a large bare wall on the right side. I decided that the best way to add depth was to cover it completely with removable wall paper, but then I never found a pattern that worked well with the space. So for the past few months, I’ve been working with a company based in Sweden called Photowall to create the kind of wallpaper that I envisioned for my living room. I continued with the monochromatic theme of my home and went with black and white Dalmatian spots to compliment our rug and flower wall. I couldn’t be happier with the way that it turned out, and I even made it removable so that if I ever changed my mind in the future, I didn’t have to deal with the whole wallpaper removal process.
Below you will find snapshots of how I made my wallpaper removable by lining my wall with painter’s tape and applying pieces of double sided tape on top of it. I then just had a friend help me hang up the wall paper and it worked out perfectly.
