MY WEDDING
My most precious day.
My wedding day. What a grandiose day it was. I look back on the overcast morning that I was due to become a bride and remember it being the most precious memory of my life. All of my married gals told me that it would be a day filled with mixed emotions, and that it truly was. I did not mentally prepare for that day, so as one would usually wake up with butterflies and a whole lot of smiles, I will keep it candid by saying that I actually woke up in a pile of sweat (not the glamorous wake up call you would want on your special day!) I took a long, hot shower, and played some of my favorite tunes when a sudden feeling overcame me unlike before. I looked outside of my window above the headboard and viewed the clear sky that covered uptown Charlotte, and it hit me. In just a few hours, I would be dressed in the luxurious gown I bought several months prior, my glam squad would be fixing me up, and I would be walking down to meet my husband.
The magical presentation that was my wedding ballroom at The Westin lit a spark in my eye – from the luscious jewel-toned florals to the glistening centerpieces. Seeing all of my family and friends from around the world looking so beautiful for my celebration filled my heart. But of all things, seeing my groom looking the most handsome I have ever seen electrified my soul. In that moment, I knew it would be happily ever after from there on out. x
