YELLOW & PINK FOR SPRING

A color combo that’s perfect for a spring fling.

When I traveled to Florida to celebrate one of my best friends’ engagement, I was in the process of transitioning my winter wardrobe to spring.  I couldn’t think of a better opportunity to incorporate bright colors than being in Florida in the early days of the season.  I’m usually the one to veer towards classic colors (cue in: black, whites, neutrals), but in the attempt to embrace all things colorful, I wore this yellow lace dress for the occasion. I wasn’t trying to spend an arm and a leg on my complete outfit, so I paired the look with the pink (or hot pink? or fuchsia?) pumps that I wore to Aya’s Vogue Bridal Shower. They just happened to be sitting there in my closet staring at me, so I brought them along to play. All of the other pieces kind of fit together as I continued to build my look.

As I put my entire ensemble together and prepped myself for a mini photo shoot pre-celebration, I stepped out onto the streets of the sunshine state and it began to thunderstorm (the irony, right?).  I was low key hating on mother nature. The silver lining? No pictures means no one saw my outfit which means I can re-wear the look all over again to the next spring fling back in my city. And that’s exactly what I did.
