Guys, remember when I said that THIS CHEESECAKE was the easiest cheesecake of all time? WELL now I have for you the easiest DESSERT of all time. Seriously though. So, so easy.

Have you tried a magic bar before? Sometimes they are called 7 layer bars and we have been making them for a loooong time now. Actually, you can find one of our oldest recipes from 2013 where we made them using potato chips. Literally, we are in love with them and now this dark chocolate coconut version has become a staple sweet treat for our family.  It’s my mother in laws favorite dessert and so every chance I get to whip something sweet up for her, it HAS to involve dark chocolate and coconut, and it’s 9 times out of 10 going to be this dessert.

This recipe is perfect for those of us who aren’t really pros about being in the kitchen. It’s almost impossible to mess this up simply because you can put whatever you want in it and the amounts are pretty much up to you.  All you need are good quality ingredients and one hand.

I made these bars so many times in the last year I’ve lost count… and EVERY TIME I make them, I get asked for this recipe. So trust me on this, you need to make them, and be prepared for everyone to love you just a little bit more because of them.

Graham cracker crust, chocolate, coconut, pecans, sweetened condensed milk

1 1/2 cups graham crackers, crushed

1 stick unsalted butter, melted

1-2 cups chocolate chips (dark or semi sweet- I used Ghiradelli)

1 1/2 cups coconut

1 cup pecans

1/2 teaspoon sea salt, optional

1 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk

Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees (180 C).  Grease a 9×13 pan with baking spray.  In medium bowl, mix melted butter with graham crackers together until crumbly.  Press into pan.

+ Sprinkle crust with chocolate chips, pecans, and sea salt. Pour entire can of sweetened condensed milk over bars.  Top with coconut (and add some extra chocolate chips if you want it to look pretty).

+ Bake for 30 minutes or until coconut is toasted.  Leave to cool to room temperature before slicing into bars.
