WHAT TO PACK FOR COACHELLA

A guide for the festival-goer.

This is my first time attending Coachella (or any music festival) EVER and it’s been one of my absolute dreams to check this experience off my list of life goals. I’ve been following this iconic festival for over a decade now and have always been fascinated by the whole production of it – especially the street style of celebrities and even regular people like me. So for once, I felt like packing was a little on the easier side based on all of the studying I’ve done these past few years.

From accessories to ensembles, I’m sharing what I packed for COACHELLA WEEKEND ONE – with the hopes I can help out COACHELLA WEEKEND TWO attenders, or even to the crowds that are attending other festivals this summer.

I’ve heard many people say hot HOT it gets in Indio, but jackets are so important because at night it gets to a cool 60 degrees. With my style – I chose to pack colorful and scintillating sequin jackets that were reminiscent to my personal taste with simplistic layering pieces underneath… because honestly, what better time to wear these killer pieces than at the biggest festival of all time? I figured I could wear these in the morning for pictures, stash them in a locker (that you can rent prior to arriving to the festival) and at night, whip them back on.  I’m styling them over super lightweight unitards so that i’m comfortable throughout the day and night.

I can’t tell you how important it is to keep it comfy on your feet. The festival is on several acres of land so you’ll be frolicking the fields all day and night. Sneakers and boots are my go-tos – some with small heels for a touch of height. Again, I went with several statement pairs for that extra pizzazz, but brown suede boots or black booties will work just fine. Or, step out in a classic pair of Converse sneakers or Keds if you’re not into the ‘wow’.

JEWELRY:  I’m a sucker for jewels, so I’m packing all of my most colorful and statement-making jewelry I own. Preferably ones that gleam and glimmer under the sun as well as when night falls. I’m all about stacking, so whether it’s on my neck or on my arm, layering is essential for me because more is MORE.

+ HANDBAGS: No one wants to carry a large tote of their things while enjoying the concerts and parties, so I stuck with cool backpacks and even fanny packs for the occasion. It’s so much easier when your cell phone is accessible on your waist for instant grabbing if you see your favorite celeb walking around or your number one artist going up on stage.
+ SUNGLASSES: I’m a sunglasses junkie, so I decided to bring an array of my favorite and most on-trend pairs to interchange throughout the days. Even if you don’t have an assortment like mine, it’s extremely important to bring at least one pair. Since the festival is the desert, it gets pretty windy with sandstorms. If you’re going to protect your eyes, you might as well do it in style.

HEADWEAR: Make sure to top your head off with a boho-chic hat or cool flower crown (if you want to go class ‘Chella). Adding this to your look will protect you from the hot sun rays AND will keep you stylish. A bandana is also essential because you can tie it around your neck for a statement look AND it will also be another factor in guarding your mouth from those crazy sandstorms that may occur.

+ BODY JEWELRY: If you want to shine from the inside and out, face jewels are just for you. This is a major trend when attending Coachella among the crowd walkers. I bought an inexpensive pack of six that contain different designs in bright hues so that the options were endless with my looks. They’re super cool and totally photogenic for your photo ops.
