RAMADAN WARDROBE ESSENTIALS
Essentials that your closet needs this Ramadan.
Ramadan requires a few wardrobe essentials that you need in your closet. It’s quite challenging to keep it conservative yet totally chic in Ramadan (this article describes the struggle). So we gather a few necessities that’ll style effortlessly with any look.
Tunics are stylistic trends that stay season after season. A great thing about this divine silhouette? They’re extremely long and effortlessly flowy for a non-sculpting effect. Let’s be real, no one wants to see your dairy-air during this holy time. Or your full belly after a delicious iftar. They’re perfect for styling over skinny jeans and leggings (see next must-have).
An ideal companion for tunics. Everyone loves a great legging, because they’re optimally comfortable and allow ample stretch thanks to an elastic waistband (hence, taking care of those nights of full bellies). You can never go wrong with a basic black pair, or get crazy with a cool printed style.
The seasonless accessory we all love can be found in a great scarf or two. Whether you’re styling it around your neck or over your head for a long night of prayer, options are endless when it comes to this wardrobe essential.
Abayas are extremely crucial during Ramadan, because you can get fancy and wear one to a gathering, or head to the mosque in one. For those of you who are unfamiliar with what these are, they refer to as a full-length outergarments worn by Muslim women. Whether they’re in a solid hue or are decorative with vibrant embroidery, there are plenty that will spruce up any look.
Keep a pair of go-to slippers or slides handy this month. Your body will grow tired and weary during hours of fasting, so you might as well keep your feet comfortable at all costs. Slip-on shoes are not just great for comfort though, they’re also perfect for in between making wudu, which is the Islamic procedure for washing parts of the body prior to prayer times.
