Vacations are so important. Whether it’s a flight to Istanbul or a quick trip to Charleston, they are much needed and always appreciated. That’s why I do my very best to plan mini trips when we don’t have many days to take off… and a little exploring is good for the soul. I’m usually the first one to jump at the opportunity to head down to Charleston, but to get into the cold wintery spirits, Hamzeh and I decided to spend one Sunday up in Asheville, North Carolina. He is was extremely excited because he used to reside there before moving to Charlotte, and I was ecstatic to try all of the foods that I had tried back when I was in college. Although it rained the entire time, it was so nice to spend some time together in a different city. We literally walked everywhere and ate everything our stomachs could handle, which is pretty difficult when you find yourself traveling with either me or Aya.
Since we booked last minute, we tried our very best to find a hotel in the middle of the city. Something that was walking distance from all of the hot spots and also had a boutique vibe (which you guys know I love) was ideal. We stumbled upon Hotel Indigo which is on the corner of Haywood Street, and it was the perfect location for a mini trip. We were on the top floor that overlooked the city, and I fell just a little in love with the decor. I’m not the type to rely on hotel food because of my need to explore the local blogger chic restaurants, so I woke up early to grab some coffee and doughnuts, and I snuggled right back up in bed to enjoy them.
