Anyone who has been following us for a while knows that we regularly get eyelash extensions. We first started about a year ago and have not looked back ever since. Our inboxes often get flooded with lots of questions, so we decided to talk to one of our favorite technicians at our regular spot (Lash & Beauty Co.) to answer some of your frequently asked questions. HOW LONG DO A SET OF EYELASH EXTENSIONS LAST?
Longevity of eyelash extensions can be anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks before a fill. Great aftercare helps!
DO I HAVE TO AVOID WASHING MY FACE?
No! We recommend you wash your face/lashes daily. Just avoid getting the lashes wet for the FIRST 24-48 hours after every full set or fill.
CAN I STILL WEAR EYE MAKE UP?
Yes. Just nothing waterproof! Although, we don’t recommend mascara at all because it will cause them to stick together and is very hard to clean off.
DO LASH EXTENSIONS RUIN MY NATURAL LASHES?
No, if you do your research and find a trained & certified lash artist who knows how to properly isolate each lash before applying an extension. And following aftercare instructions are a must! Yes, if the lash artist is careless. A careless or untrained artist often times will not know how to single out 1 individual lash causing them to stick and fuse together, which will lead to damaging natural lashes. So it is very important to do your research!
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
It varies in certain areas. Here at lash&beautyco, it starts at $185 for a classic full set.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN INDIVIDUAL LASH EXTENSIONS VS. BUNDLES?
Individual eyelash extensions are applied 1 by 1 on every single lash (except baby lashes). The extensions shed when your own natural lashes shed, causing no damage. Clusters (often mistaken for individuals) are premade fans of lashes with a very thick base that are applied on the lash line side by side. But because the base of the clusters are so thick, it will pull out any natural lash that they are attached to. Ouch!! Clusters are very damaging.
CAN YOU SWIM WITH EYE LASH EXTENSIONS?
Yes, as long as you waited the allotted 24-48 hours for the adhesive to cure. And always remember to wash the chlorine or salt water off right after.
CAN I STILL WEAR EYE LASH EXTENSIONS IF I HAVE SENSITIVE EYES?
Yes! We make an adhesive for sensitive eyes. We can also do a patch test. That consists of applying about 5-10 extensions to each eye and will be monitored for the next 24-48 hours to make sure there is no reaction.
