OLD PINEVILLE PUB TASTING
A new local hangout that balances a sports bar ambience and gourmet food.
Earlier this week, we were invited to sample the menu at a new local hangout, Old Pineville Premium Pub (OPPP). Not too far in distance from the area in which I live in, this family owned joint had a home grown feel and nice wooded decor. I immediately noticed the plentiful amount of TV’s plastered on the walls, and instantly remembered H and his love for going to sports bars with more than enough TV’s.
While this pub had a casual feel, the food presented as more upscale. Each course was not only presented beautifully, but also tasted delicious (for those who know me personally, you know how much I love that). The first course consisted of a plate of fried green tomatoes and pimento cheese, topped with arugula. The second course was a shrimp skewer salad with goat cheese and candied pecans. Third course was a chipotle lime glazed salmon with fried squash and wild rice, and the final course was a dense raspberry cheesecake that had the perfect 50/50 ratio of cheesecake and crust.
Can’t wait to go back with my friends. x
