A WEEKEND IN CHARLESTON
A mini getaway to our favorite southern city.
No place exudes ‘southern charm’ the way that Charleston does. A place near and dear to both of our hearts, we decided to take a mini vacay to the place where palm trees and pastel buildings paint the town with a charismatic aura. From the cobblestone streets to the super chic brunch spots, we took the town by dressing our southern best, staying at the fanciest pad in town, and adventuring to South Carolina-renowned hot spots like King Street and the Charleston marketplace. We ended our weekend with a breezy boat ride right on the Atlantic – where we achieved sunkissed skin and a bit of that effortlessly tousled salty hair between our curls. A weekend in Charleston means a weekend of carefree fun, and with all of the crazy yet exciting things going on in our lives, it was just the thing we needed.
The ever-so enchanting Belmond Charleston Place Hotel is where we spent our nights during our three-day getaway. Right in the heart of downtown Charleston, this hotel blends old world charm with modernized luxury, making it the ultimate staycation spot. Luxury retailers like Louis Vuitton, Godiva and Gucci can be found in the lavish hallways of the lobby, while sweet piano melodies can be heard from the four-star Charleston Grill restaurant. We spent our Sunday morning eating breakfast in the lovely Palmetto Cafe, which is always a must during our Chucktown visits.
Park Cafe: always a go-to in Charleston for breakfast or brunch. Order the avocado and kale toast
PawPaw: a new stop for us – sweet Southern food that does not disappoint
Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit: totally worth the long wait, but try getting there before 10am
Taco Boy: chicken nachos, baja fish taco, and Mexican street corn
Palmetto Cafe: lives inside the Charleston Place hotel. The Sunday brunch buffet spread is everything.
Crave Kitchen & Cocktails: home to award winning mac & cheese and some delicious seafood pasta
Caviar & Bananas: love stopping by this place for a quick snack and some iced coffee
Black Tap Coffee: our first time visiting, but the honey lavender latte is worth returning to
