BEST DRESSED: 2013 ACADEMY AWARDS
Happy Monday everyone!
I hope everyone had a great weekend! Who spent their Sunday night watching the Oscar’s?
There were too many ‘Best Dressed’ Starlets to choose from from last night’s
Academy Awards.
But of course, I couldn’t expect anything less than Va Va Voom for
the “Awards show of all Awards shows.”
Here is my Best Dressed list… which I feel like has almost EVERYONE on it!

Charlize Theron was angelic in Dior… but then again my favorite actress is angelic in anything and everything she wears. Even with the new boyish pixie cut she tends to pull off the classic beauty look. Love the straight line dress and the train was lovely and just enough for the Oscar’s.

Jessica Chastain brought Hollywood Glamour to the carpet in Armani Prive.
This look would have been somewhat plain-jane without the red lip and the voluminous curls,
so I’m happy to see this on her; especially because she is so up-and-down with looks on the red carpet.

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture, which was exactly what I expected. The house of Dior must be her favorite, since she has worn it to every awards show this season. I love the white and slightly pink tone for the young actress, and the gown was the perfect dress to accept the best supporting actress Oscar that she won last night.

Adele in Jenny Packham may have been the best I’ve ever seen her. The hair was gorgeous, makeup was absolutely flawless, and the dress was flattering and elegant. I am dying to meet her makeup artist, since she always looks so damn good. Later in the night, she added a red lip and this look was even better than I thought it could ever be.

Kerry Washington really doesn’t go wrong on the carpet. This fashionista was dressed in Miu Miu and let me just say I’m not entirely sure who could have worn it better than her. The coral color and light embellishments looked fantastic for the petite-framed star and it accentuated well with her skin color.

Amanda Seyfried in Alexander McQueen. That statement right there just gives me chills. Some may oppose and say that it wasn’t right for her because it was so similar to her skin tone, but I honestly think taupe works so well for her. The hair + makeup was stunning and halter-choker-cleavage bearing dress was just so stinkin’ gorgeous.

Stacey Keibler in Naeem Khan. We didn’t see much of her last night, but the moments that she was spotted on the camera I couldn’t stop staring at her beaded gown. Super eye-catching and loved the black belt addition at her tiny waist. She looked long and lean and I thought this was one of her better choices on the carpet!

Amy Adams in Oscar de la Renta. SO BEAUTIFUL. I loved the numerous amounts of tulle used to create the bottom half and train of this amazing grey colored gown. It was really nice to see her in something so big like this… but I only wished one thing: if she would have added a plum lip color, the look would have been better. Otherwise, she looked great.

Sandra Bullock in Elie Saab was a surprise for me somehow, but definitely an amazing surprise to say the least. Black looks so sleek and elegant on her and I love that it was sheer in all of the right places. Kudos to Sandra – it looked better on her than it did on the runway.

Jane Fonda in Versace was by far my BEST DRESSED of the night. This lady right here really does know how to dress for her age (which happens to be 75, by the way). Many of the older starlets really do not know how to dress at all – for example, Meryl Streep and Sally Field; and I understand being older it is hard to find something that works well with your body, but good grief. If they took notes from Jane… the older ladies would be competing for best dressed with the 25 year old actresses. She shined bright like a diamond in this canary yellow gown. It was absolutely stunning!
So, who was on your best dressed list?
xoxo!
