We start by researching the brand’s ownership, including its parent company and investors. We also look into whether the brand or its parent company has a business footprint in occupied Palestine, as well as any public statements the brand or its owners have made regarding Palestine.
Websites like disoccupied.com and bdnaash.com, along with boycott-focused apps like NO THANKS and Boycat allow us to cross-check our research. We use multiple sources whenever possible so we can make the most informed decision about whether a brand aligns with our BDS-safe criteria.
We also recognize that things can change! Brands can change ownership, investors, business practices, or public positions, so we continue to keep an eye on the brands we feature and update our recommendations when new information is available.
Yes! If you use a product from a boycotted brand and can’t find a swap on our site, send it through our Swap Request page. We keep a running list and work through the most requested products first.
