BEST DRESSED: 2013 SCREEN ACTOR’S GUILD AWARDS
Lots of SAGGING went on (in a good way) last night at the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards. I’m sad that I missed watching the actual awards show, but you know I didn’t miss the best part – the Red Carpet looks! I was fairly impressed with all of the gowns galore on the red carpet. There were many people that usually don’t make wise choices on the carpet that I actually thought looked FAB for the show, which was a nice surprise. There was not much of a color scheme; many repeating colors were seen like navy blue, taupe, and white for example, but all styles were totally unique and different, so it all worked out!
Here are my favorites from the show:
Nicole Kidman in Vivienne Westwood Couture

She has been on such a roll as far as dress choices. I think Nicole is done with choosing the very “mom” looking dresses because she absolutely wowed me with the sexiness of this Vivienne Westwood high slit dress. The hair was mature and perfection with the entire look and it’s definitely a nice change for her. This is one of my best dressed of the night.
Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Couture

This Dior gown was SO much better than the one she wore for the Golden Globes
just a few weeks ago. J.Law went with a more mature and subtle look,
totally opposite from her funky orange-pointy-boob-halloween dress.
It was beautiful and very simple, perfect for the SAG awards.

Morena Baccarin in Basil Soda

This dress was fierce and so stunning. The colors were perfect with her olive complexion and dark hair. I thought this dress looked better on Morena than it did on the runway. It is unique and risqué which is important to risk for any red carpet event. This is another one of my best dressed of the night.
Naomi Watts in Marchesa

Naomi definitely presented us with the ‘old Hollywood glamour’ look last night and it was stunning. The hair, lip color, color of the dress and all of it’s embellishments were phenomenal on her bringing class and elegance… two words that pretty much sum of the actress herself.
Amanda Seyfried in Zac Posen

This is another woman that looked so much better last night than at the Golden Globes. Although that dress was pretty, it totally washed her out and it wouldn’t have hurt to put a lip color on to have some sort of ‘pop’ feature. But this dress was gorgeous – the hair was beautiful and the navy was very attractive on her. My only complaint was that the necklace could have been replaced with some statement earrings. I would have loved to see that instead of a long necklace!
Amy Poehler in Zuhair Murad

This silhouette was so great for Amy – it was age appropriate and very chic. The waist line excelled in accentuating her curves and the black was very flattering. I also loved the sweetheart neckline. The olive green clutch was the perfect touch. She looked fabulous!
January Jones in Prabal Gurung

If I had to give an award for most high fashioned dress of the night, it would definitely have to go to this chick right here. To me, this dress was fresh and very different which kind of describes up and coming designer Prabal Gurung. She represented the rising designer so well in this amazing dress, and I love how she made it retro with the mohawk-looking hairstyle. SO chic.
Jayma Mays in Georges Hobeika Atelier

Jayma is an actress that not many people notice, but she always has great choices on the red carpet! I love watching her on one of my favorite tv shows [glee] so I’m always looking to see what she’s wearing. Her cute personality always shines and it’s even better when she has a great taste in fashion. I loved the sweet floral detailing of this dress – perfect for such a sweetie she can be (on and off camera).
Katrina Bowden in Badgley Mischka

I loved the color of this dress, details, the tulle to create the mermaid-style, and the accentuated waistline. Such a pretty dress – but usually this color needs a romantic red lip. That would be my only objection. Other than that, everything was A+.
So who was on your best dressed list, and who did I miss?
xoxo!
