BEST DRESSED: 2015 GOLDEN GLOBES

It’s that time of year again… The new year always begins on a fabulous note due to the award season’s demanding schedule. The next couple of months I will be plastered to my television to catch all of the footage of every awards show and red carpet interviews. This is the year to watch, because last year several rookies were in attendance to these shows, such as Lupita Nyong’o and Margot Robbie, and they killed it on the carpet show after show. This just means that now that they have become veterans, the fashions are going to be better than ever. Nevertheless, let’s not forget about some of the new faces we will be seeing a lot of this year on the red carpet, like Rosamund Pike or even… *Amal Alaamuddin*! Regardless, I will be tuning in and I am excited for what’s to come!

As far as Golden Globes go, there were a batch full of best dresses celebrities. The common theme to last night’s attire amongst the ladies were white hues and silver gowns. To be quite honest, it was getting kind of boring for me at one point. Wearing a white gown or a silver sequined dress are supposed to make stand out/flashy looks that make jaws drop. The problem is is that when you have too much of it going on on the carpet, it loses it’s wow factor and glamorous appeal. Either way, I narrowed down to just a few of my top favorites, and most of these are ladies that reoccur on my list constantly (not a surprise!)

Here are my best dressed picks of the night:

Lupita Nyong’o in Giambattista Valli Couture was an obvious pick for me. This lovely lady is one that I always have my eye on; I can really appreciate her willingness to take fashion risks at glamorous outings like this event, especially due to the fact that she is so new to the “game.” Bravo, Lupita!

Julianne Moore in Givenchy Haute Couture was the first gown I laid eyes on that I fell in love with. Feathers are a big obsession for me right now, because they can alternate between fun and flimsy her eloquently classy at the same time. The feathers here definitely added a dramatic effect to the already dazzling gown. The motto here was “more is more” and I absolutely love it.

Emma Stone – another favorite celebrity red carpet strutter of mine because she also takes serious risks, like this gorgeous sashed Lanvin jumpsuit. She truly was that one person I was waiting on the cameras to hit because I knew I would love the look she appeared in, and I did.

Chrissy Teigan wore a subtle yet fabulously detailed dress. I love the embellishment and intricate styles that this dress has to offer, and I think Chrissy chose a great “muted” dress since she technically attended because of her husband. This dress even went higher on my ranking once I heard it was by one of my favorite designers, Zuhair Murad.

Kate Beckinsale in Elie Saab was absolute perfection. Kate is one I love to watch out for on the red carpet, she always carries herself with such poise and class. Of course, I fell in love with the dress even more when I found out it was by my favorite haute couture designer ever. She was flawless perfection.

Kate Hudson in Versace slayed the world. Season after season, she is constantly keeping everyone on their toes in magnificent and fashion-forward gowns. All eyes were on her, as they were last year during the Golden Globes.
