Fashionable Friday

Happy Friday!
It’s been a long and busy week, but that’s nothing new for me lately. Ever since I started working full-time I now truly understand the meaning of living for the weekend. So what will I be doing this weekend? Working on Saturday & attending a co-worker’s engagement party. I’m excited to just have some fun and celebrate with everyone from work. It’ll be a real treat + we’re all getting dolled up for it!
Here are some of my favorite inspirational photos that I found for the week.
I hope everyone has a lovely weekend! xx

In honor of it now being past Easter – for those of you who believe in the silly myth “You can’t wear white before Easter,” here is Laetitia Roukbi by Styledumonde posing in an all white ensemble. I honestly believe that whoever made up that rule truly did not know a thing about fashion, but this photograph is the white rule done right.  It’s a muted look yet still fun and unexpected, and with the right accessories you’ll look like an total style icon. All white everything is IN for spring!

So I’m pretty much always in #armparty craze, but lately #fingercandy has been a big thing for me. I love the simplicity of this photograph and am obsessing over the layers of chunky rings that are seen. I’ve been stacking tons of delicate rings on my fingers lately but it looks like thick rings are making a comeback. Plus I love how the accessories are dominating this plain white outfit. Wearing something subtle like a solid or even a neutral is the best way for your accessories to make a bold statement.

I am all about this editorial shot of Ji Hye Park by Kang Hyea-Won for Vogue Korea’s February 2014 issue. I have been going crazy over Givenchy’s Spring 2014 collection ever since I saw a street walker from Australia Fashion Week wear a knee length skirt with bra top to match in the baby pink with embroidered detail on it, so when I saw the tunic-rendition of it here I freaked. What is not to love about this picture? The background is eccentric and the outfit is so bold. I love how it looks like there’s a lot going on as far as colors and prints. It makes for such a fantastic photograph!

All week I’ve been wondering what I should wear to the engagement party I’m going to on Saturday night, worried I would be too dressy in my cocktail dress. This quote brought me back to reality and it’s a quote that I’ve kept with me for my whole life. Who cares if you’re too dressed up to that event that everyone you know will be attending? It is better to be overdressed and be the best dressed, radiating person in the room rather than to be underdressed and look like a fool. Life’s too short anyway! 🙂

This gorgeous black gown with pink underlay is from Monique Lhuiller’s Fall 2014 Runway Collection.  If you want to talk about a stand-out dress, you’re looking at one. I love the black detail at the top of the dress, making it look different and unique. The rest of the dress is just a classic, sexy silhouette and then at the bottom it’s a refreshing change as the pop of pink comes at you unexpectedly.
