Fashionable Friday

Hi fashdolls, I am extremely relieved and happy to type this, so with pride and joy I say

TGIF!!

Thank God this week was over, it was a long one.

Today marks the first completed week of the holy month and Islamic holiday of Ramadan, where Muslims fast all day, starting at sunrise and ending at sunset. Our fast excludes the consumption of food, drink, and anything that is deemed sinful for a total of 30 days. It is a month of forgiving & peace.

So now that the hardest week is over with, I’m ready to have some fun this weekend! Since sadly to say it is my last weekend in New York City. So to jump start my weekend AND yours, here are some inspirational and utterly fashionable photographs for you to admire and perhaps die over.

Inspirational Outfit:

Can’t let go of the ’80s? This is the perfect example of a not too over the top modern-day retro chic ensemble. Want to pull off this look? Bold, vibrant colors is the only way to go, and of course – as much accessorizing as possible! No retro outfit is good without some geometric earrings!

Eccentric Accessories:

The thoughts of over accessorizing an outfit gets me giddy! And over accessorizing with memorable chunky pieces at that. Whoever said that less is more may have never stepped into a TopShop. This day and age, more is more. I love this classic black white and gray rocker-chic outfit. The the cool and eye-popping accessories make this look B+ look to an A.

Editorial Lovin’:

Red hot chili peppers may possibly be the best description for this photograph. I love this subtle yet fierce editorial shot of Hanna Wahmer in a vintage inspired Dolce & Gabbana number from the Spring/Summer 2012 collection. This was featured in the July issue of Vogue. LOVE.

Runway

In honor of Ramadan, I chose a hijabi-styled look from the Irna la Perle runway collection. I was recently enlightened by this amazing womenswear designer brand and was intrigued that there was someone out there who designs especially for Muslim women. They specialize in glamorous gowns for special occasions including weddings because they believe that “every girl deserves to be a princess.”

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

stay FABULOUS.
