Fashionable Friday
Happy Friday everyone!
This has been such a whirlwind of a week. From Friday – Tuesday I spent my time in Charleston with my sister and it was such a blast. When I came home Tuesday night, it started snowing! We haven’t seen snow down in Columbia in probably three or four years, so it was definitely a change to look outside my window and see a Winter Wonderland. Thursday, I was supposed to travel to Atlanta for appointments at the Apparel Mart and due to the weather, I wasn’t able to go, which is okay because on Saturday is our biggest sale of the year at VanJean so I helped prep for that instead. It was a crazy busy week (even I need to take a breather from typing all of this out) Oh and if you live in Columbia and are reading this, make sure to visit Devine Street for Sidewalk Sale,
where you can buy discounted items up to 75% off!
Anyway, here’s some inspiration for you to end your week with!
XOXO

Due to low temperatures all around the country this week, everyone needs to follow the lead of style guru (and my personal favorite icon) Miroslava Duma. When I see this lovely lady in winter attire, I literally want it to snow everyday of the year. She does winter chic with such pizazz and in her photos it always seems as if she could care less about the negative degree temperatures. Here she is shown wearing denim skinnies, high to the sky black suede wedged booties, and a color blocked coat with leather appliqués. The mod 50s pink fur hat is the cherry on top to a fabulous outfit.

I love this photo of a multi colored sequined pregnant belly being caressed by
fabulous hand candy accessories. Hand pieces are going to be huge for 2014 and
I love how you can dress them up or down. They are great statement pieces that can add
so much glam to any basic outfit. Check out some of my favorite hand pieces for

Flashback Friday – to February 2012. Exactly two years ago this issue of Vogue India made its way to the news stands and thank the publishing lords for it. The beautiful and talented Lakshmi Menon was photographed amazingly by Kevin Sinclair in the pages of this issue wearing big names like Vera Wang, Antonio Berardi, and Tom Ford. This editorial focused on how to cleverly layer pieces without being too over the top. Some of the tips they gave was layering sequins with basics and digital prints.

In honor of the 40th anniversary of the iconic Wrap Dress, I had to add this photo of one of the most important quotes of the year – uttered by the legendary Diane von Furstenburg. If I could get a hold of this light and hang it up on my bedroom wall, I would. The Wrap Dress, aka “The Dress that started it all” has come such a long way since it’s creation in 1973; being worn by stars like Paris Hilton & Madonna. Clearly, this famous dress has no age requirement or time limit, so I know it will be around forever.

How amazing is the detail on this sheer & strapless sweetheart gown from the Zuhair Murad Spring’14 Couture Collection? I can’t get over how much glow this young model has shining off of her as she walked down the runway. Every season, Zuhair Murad makes an outstanding impression with his intricate silhouettes & attention to exquisite detail. This gown is modern & one of a kind.
Just like the designer!
