How to: Brown Paper Packages

Brown paper packages tied up with strings really are a few of my favorite things.  The first week in July I was so upset that I had to miss one of my best friend’s birthdays. (I even had her present picked out in December).  While this is a pretty common thing for us (missing each others birthdays), I thought I would attempt to do something colorful for her wrapping.  I’ve always loved a wrapped present, and no matter how old I am, I love the element of surprise they bring.  I actually went searching in Michael’s for brown wrapping paper and tissue circles, but never ended up finding the latter.  I didn’t want to give up on my idea, so I decided to make it myself.  And while I do have a scallop puncher, I thought I’d go basic utensils you can find at home.
