MTV Movie Awards Swag

Another Awards show that the celebs don’t have to get dolled up in their best formal gown for. The MTV Movie Awards is known for always having an eclectic range of styles on the red carpet. In seasons past, we’ve seen some of the craziest and bizarre looks to hit an awards show, but this year we didn’t see any of that psychotic bull. There were tons of trendy looks, and fashion forward ensembles like mixed asymmetrical printed dresses, crop top and skirt combos, and embellished minis.

With that said, here is my Best Dressed list!
Zendaya in rocked it out in an asymmetrical floral print and color blocked Emanuel Ungaro dress. This was one of my favorite looks of the entire night. The lime green/yellow was a fun pop of color that is truly unexpected at any awards show, but who better to wear it than the young and chic star herself? Loved the rocker style hair and the extra umph in it was the perfect mix with the dress’ pretty silhouette.

Shailene Woodley as of right now is the actress in the lime light, and also the leading lady that everyone wants to be, so of course she had to wear something unique and eye catching like this knotted crop top and skirt by Balmain. The look was perfection with her newly pixie ‘do hair cut and on top of it all,  she’s also ahead of the fashion game, wearing a color shade that is expected to be HUGE for Fall. Plus who else could pull of a moss green color like she did? She looked killer.
We saw a whole other side to Nicki Minaj on the red carpet. She was much more sleek and subtle in a gorgeous curve hugging Alexander McQueen dress. The minimal makeup is totally something that we’re not used to by her and she looked flawless. Just when you thought the dress couldn’t get better, the slit and sheer detail going all the way down the sides of her dress gave it even more of a sex appeal.

Rita Ora is one of those celebrities that is known for possibly wearing something wacky tacky on the red carpet, but she looked elegant and sexy in this neck-plunging, cleavage baring Barbara Casasola gown. The red lip was a classy touch and I loved her vintage vixen 1950s hair. Although you can be a bit more immature with your red carpet look at the MTV Movie Awards, I’m so glad she opted for something more quaint. We definitely can take her more seriously now as far as fashion!
If Jessica Alba’s fashion sense could speak, I believe it would say “Age is just a number.” She is constantly wearing pieces that some may say only a young celebrity would wear, but then when she wears a more mature gown, she still slays in it. No matter what JA wears, it always looks so damn good on her. The strapless crop top and high waisted mini skirt was amazing on the mother of two, and she totally pulled it off like she always does. This cute was by Emily and Merritt.

Lupita Nyong’o knocked everyone off of their feet in this fashion forward, on-trend multicolored Chanel dress. This dress was absolutely fascinating and I’m not sure if anyone else could have pulled this one off. The smokey eye lids and the blue patent pumps were a great add on to this already colorful look. I love the risks that Lupita is taking as a rookie on the red carpet, and I truly hope she keeps it up for next year’s award season. She pushes the envelope time and time again! Another one of my favorites for the night.
Victoria Justice in Atelier Versace was my third favorite of the evening. I thought this gorgeous embellished mini was flattering, and age appropriate for the young, beautiful starlet. We haven’t seen many gold or silver peep toe heels on the carpet this year and I think that the shoes made the look even more bedazzling than if she wore another color. Plus, pink is a hot hue right now and it looked fabulous on her already tan skin tone.
