my old room

I guess it’s been 5 years now since my family moved out of our old home. A good 15 years was spent there- but these pictures are a constant reminder of a very specific time– my teenage years.  I remember the exact moment that my creativity quote wall began. I was sitting in my {plain} purple painted room, when I heard the door ring.  A UPS man was standing with a big package asking me if I could sign.  I was a little young then, but when I saw my name on the package my eyes grew wide.  The moment I opened it, I realized that I was one of the luckiest girls in the world.  My father bought me a signed plaque by Elton John {my favorite singer} from Las Vegas.  It was 1 out of only a 1000 in the world.  Elton John meant so much to me growing up, his lyrics helped me out of a slump in my life.. so getting this plaque meant to the world to me.  I hung it up in my room, and wrote on the wall:
“I hope you don’t mind, that I put down in words..
How wonderful life is, now you’re in the world.”
At the time, those words were dedicated to my father, and how happy he made me.
But I would’ve never told him that because I was an arrogant teen.
With that said, that is how my wonderful quote wall began- and these photos are all I have left of it.  Each kind or inspirational quote written by family and friends in high school.. that til this day lift me up when I’m feeling down.
