Southern Style
So glad we are at the end of our week. This weekend is going to be a fun-filled one because my friends and I will be attending the annual Carolina Cup at the Springdale Race Course in Camden, South Carolina. Most of you probably don’t know what Carolina Cup is, but it is an event that happens every year in the small town of Camden but people all around the state of South Carolina (and even North Carolina) come into town to watch a thrilling horse race. People place bets, hang out with friends, and much more. But the absolute BEST part about it is… the outfits!
The ladies get real southern 1950s chic and dress up in sun dresses and big floppy hats, and the men get all gentlemen-like in button down, bow ties, and shorts or pants. Everyone is pretty dressed to the T because there isn’t any other event like this in our area, so we go all out!
For the girly-girls, the most popular place to look when searching for that perfect sundress for cup is the infamous Lilly Pulitzer brand. Each and every season, LP designs to attract the southern crowd, with pastel palettes and Springy patterns which is a definite hit for the Carolina Cup!
So what am I wearing, you ask? Well, I won’t reveal that until sometime next week –
where I’ll post pictures of the event so you all can see for yourself!
If you are a last minute type of gal like I usually am and still are freaking out about not having a dress, here are some other great looks that you could pull off for cup!
