Sunglass Hut

Today, this post is dedicated to the wonderful, eye-candy-glam-world that is
SUNGLASS HUT.
My closest friends know that I have a deep obsession with this place, because I have an even deeper obsession with sunglasses. To me, this place is like the Mecca of all eyewear, especially fashionable shades. If there is a Sunglass Hut within a short distance of where I’m walking to, 95% of the time I have to walk in and check out the latest sunnies from Prada, Ray-Ban, and Dolce & Gabbana.
Often times, my sister Dania and friend Abir avoid the route that it’s in the direction of because they know I’ll stare at myself for hours upon hours trying on all of the fabulous sunglasses in the store.
So last summer when I was approached to do a blog post about this place, I freaked out and got a little too excited about the opportunity. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect because I was gifted with the most bad-ass, elegant, and whimsical sunglasses that I could have ever owned!
Can you guess where it was bought at? 😉
A brief summary of what Sunglass Hut is for those of you who aren’t familiar with the retailer:
Sunglass Hut, a store for premium sun-wear, has over
2,000 stores across the globe and contains top brands,
latest trends, and exclusive styles of high-quality fashion
and performance sunglasses.
So let me take you back in time to when I first saw my dream sunglasses.
I first fell in love with them when I laid my eyes on an ad in a local magazine, which headlined the amazing black sunglasses from D&G’s Sicilian Baroque Collection from Spring 2013. I even took a picture of it with my iPhone because I didn’t want to forget them and knew that I had to obtain them as soon as possible.
Although the page was advertised for a vision center located in Columbia, South Carolina,
I honestly knew that I wasn’t going to get them there. I called local sunglass huts around town
and successfully found out that they carried these beauties! But after I saw the price
(a whopping $385!) I wasn’t sure if I was going to get them at all. I was broke as a joke
since it was right when I graduated college, and at the time had no full-time job. I then put the
dream of these sunglasses on the back burner, yet remained googly-eyed for them. Of course,
as fate had it I finally met with these sunglasses face-to-face, and where? At the most random
place you would even think you would finally see the sunglasses you would be dying for,
at the duty free section of the Chicago O’Hare International Airport. Of course, I almost died
inside when I put them on and they were the perfect pair of cat-eye sunglasses, fitting my framed
face magically. I felt like they were made specially for me and that I had to have them right then
and there. As I was checking myself out in the mirror, my dad was standing right there next to me, talking
some sense into me about how they were too expensive and that I shouldn’t get them…
I left that duty free section one unhappy, dream-crushed traveler.
All summer during my visit to Jordan, I couldn’t stop thinking about them. I was offered a full-time job in the middle of the summer, and just knew that right when I started the new position, I would make my visit to Sunglass Hut, and my first paycheck would go to those sunglasses. It was a plan that I was not willing to change. Luckily for me, people were observing my love for them, and listened…
A few days later, my cousin and his wife decided to randomly gift me as a one-month-late graduation gift. I honestly had no idea what it was going to be, but it seemed juicy because the family members surrounding me told me to close my eyes, and once I opened them, this was what was presented to me:
[this photo was taken a few minutes after I opened the present!]
I squealed like a pig, almost pee’d my pants, and maybe shed a tear of joy.
Just when I thought it couldn’t get better, the packaging was even beautiful –
with a deep maroon velvet case to put and protect them in. I couldn’t believe that I finally
got what I had been wanting for all this time, and as a GIFT at that. I had no idea that
Sunglass Hut was so well known around the world, and that there would even be a
store located in a Middle Eastern country like Jordan.
They were the last pair available at the store, so it was my great luck.
They are the most beautiful sunglasses to me, and now I wear them all the time.
I am so grateful to my wonderful cousins for the gift I received this summer, from the
best eyewear store out there! Thank you, Sunglass Hut for bringing me and these babies together!
A void has definitely been filled in my sunglass collection (and my heart).
and now, some photos of me enjoying life behind the shades of Sicilian Baroque sunglasses:

Thank you to my wonderful cousins Nada and Rami for giving me this amazing present!

[if you’re just as obsessed with them as I am after reading this post, get your pair HERE]. XOXO
