Our first time at Georges and for a moment, we felt like we were in Paris.

Ya’ll. It’s restaurant week in Charlotte. I’m so excited to share my first Charlotte restaurant post on a place that I thoroughly enjoyed. Our Monday nights usually consist of watching The Bachelor/Dancing with the Stars but my sister decided to take me out to try one of the places we’ve had our eye on for some time.  Georges in South Park has a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel as if you are dining in Paris for a brief moment.  Joshua P. (aka an awesome waiter) did such an excellent job describing all the food on the menu.  Thankfully, our meals were amazing and I’m so glad that we got to experience our first time at George’s during restaurant week.

Cucumber Vichyssoise + Mixed Green’s Salad

With a potato and leek base, the cucumber vichyssoise is a cold soup that had hints of herbs and a refreshing taste of cucumber.  If you’re into gazpachos, this is the soup for you.  The mixed green’s salad was topped with radishes, apples, and macadamia nuts and was personally my favorite starter of the night.

Spring Mountain Chicken

This dish was paired with smothered brussel sprouts (obsessed), mashed potatoes, and shiitake mushrooms.  The chicken was moist and crisp at the same time. I would definitely come back and order this again.

Beef Bourguignon

A nice medley of vegetables including fingerling potatoes, pearl onions, and mushrooms were topped with nice and tender beef medallions and red wine reduction. It kind of took me back to my mom’s home made roast, which is the ultimate comfort food when having a rainy day.

Apple Tarte Tatin

This dessert is only available during restaurant week.  Think of taking the inside of an apple pie and just eating the filling with nce nodes of cinnamon, sugar, and caramel.

Tahitian Vanilla Creme Brûlée

And for the star of our night. I am a huge lover of all things creme or brûléed but this dessert was the highlight of our dinner.  The custard was perfectly prepared and light, but also had a nice crunch with every bite.  I almost want to go back and just order this.
