WHAT’S IN DANIA’S HOSPITAL BAG

What I (think I) need in my hospital bag.

Not long ago, Hamzeh and I decided to take a tour of the hospital.  We’ve never been the type of people to take a class or read excessive books on parenting, but we figured we would do our part in at least figuring out what part of the hospital we need to head towards if I were to go into labor. With that said, my hospital bag was the last thing I took care of (go figure), but I’m so excited to say that I was finally able to cross it off my long to-do list.

For this list, I researched most of it on my own, but luckily I’ve had a couple of friends who are new parents fill in the gaps for me. If you’re a new mom, feel free to send over some recommendations on things you put in your bag that you loved!

I went and raided the ‘travel size’ sections to grab some mini tooth brushes, toothpaste, dry shampoo, & deodorant.  To keep my lips hydrated, I also snagged the new EOS with coconut milk & Glam Glow face wash.

Electronics with polaroid, ipad, beats headphones and laptop

I’ve been told that it could get quite boring being bound to a hospital bed after visiting hours, so I’ve made sure that my iPad is fully charged, as well my laptop.  My polaroid and camera has also been tucked away into my bag as I want to make sure to capture the moment that she arrives.

Boppy pillow, nursing pads, and maternity bras have also been added to the list of must-haves.  Not familiar with them quite yet, but I’m sure it’ll only be a matter of time.

Victoria's Secret sleep shirt, fuzzy socks, flip flops

My friend recommended that I find a button down sleep shirt to sleep in so checking vitals would be easier to deal with.  I also packed a silk robe, fuzzy socks, and comfortable underwear. I almost forgot to slide in an outfit for me on the way home, so I made sure to add a comfortable dress for when I’m discharged.

We’ve been told that hospital staff bombards with questions that need answers on the spot, so I’ve packed an envelope with insurance info, hospital forms, and ID’s.

Ritter sport, pocky, goldfish, granola

World Market is home to some of my favorite snacks, so I stocked up on Pocky and Ritter chocolate. I also made space for some snacks with substance too like granola bars and crackers.

I’m so stoked for my newborn take home outfit. It was carefully picked out (last minute of course) and couldn’t be any cuter. I’ll also be bringing a matching swaddle to my robe, onesies, socks, mittens, and a receiving blanket. Our car has also been fully prepped for baby with the car seat safely installed in the back seat.
